COPPER: What is happening in Tintaya?

On 24 May the world's third-largest mining company, BHP Billiton shut its Tintaya mine in Peru after a series of protests. Tintaya is the country's third biggest mine. What the protesters want is more "social" (ie schools, hospitals, sports facilities and housing) investment in the region.
