EL SALVADOR: Oil prices pinch

The run up in oil prices is starting to have a major economic effect. Petrol prices clicked over US$3 a gallon at the beginning of June. The country's oil import bill is likely to top US$1bn this year. The government had budgeted on oil imports costing US$900m.
