NICARAGUA: Exports to rise 14%, but oil imports outstrip

The president of the central bank, Mario Alonso, said that he reckoned that the country's exports this year would top US$800m. He said that the actual figure should be around US$830m; this would be 13.8% up on 2004. In the first six months of 2004, exports came to US$444m. In the same period of 2004, they had been US$388m. In the whole of 2004, the country exported US$756m worth of goods.
