ECUADOR: Tax receipts slightly ahead

The government reported that tax receipts in the first two months of 2006 came to US$606m. This was slightly (1.4%) more than the government had budgeted. VAT receipts provided almost two-thirds of the revenues, US$370m. The country's VAT rate is set at 12%.
