ECUADOR: Buoyant non-oil exports

Non-oil exports grew by 11.9% in the first six months on 2006, compared with the same period of 2005. This decent performance muffles exporters' complaints about the dollarisation of the economy. Indeed, as the dollar weakens against the currencies of Ecuador's neighbours, local exporters might see further growth.
