PRIVATISATION: Renationalisation in Bolivia

On 15 September, Andrés Soliz Rada resigned as energy minister. He went because he was unhappy that his decision on 12 September to issue a ministerial decree which stripped Petrobras (the biggest foreign investor in the country) of much downstream business in Bolivia, had been countermanded by Vice-President Alvaro Garcí­a Linera. President Evo Morales was out of the country, first at the Non-Aligned summit in Havana and then at the UN General Assembly.
