BOLIVIA: 5% growth forecast
The finance minister, Luis Arce, forecast that the economy would grow by 5% in 2007. The latest GDP growth figures, for the first nine months of 2006, put growth at 4.5%. This is one full percentage point above the government's forecast at the beginning of 2006.
