DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Inflation still falling

The central bank reported that inflation in January was 0.93%. This was well below the rate for January 2006 which was 1.55%. The January 2007 rate was well below what the central bank had estimated. It had forecast a rate of between 1.50% and 2.0%. The January inflation rate means that the country is on course for a rate of between 4% and 6%, as specified in the agreement with the IMF.
