CUBA: 35% increase in exports claimed

Such an increase is just about plausible, provided that the country was selling nickel at spot prices. Nickel price have all but trebled in the past 12 months and in March topped US$50,000 a tonne. De la Nuez did not give absolute figures for exports but claimed that besides nickel there had been significant increases in exports of biotechnological and pharmaceutical exports.
