MEXICO: Still pretty sluggish

Both sides of the economy face problems. Domestic demand is faltering and exports are likely to find the going tough as long as the US economy remains in its current nervous state. Our view is still that US demand for Mexican labour and goods is likely to be lower this year than most people expected at the beginning of the year. This means that we still doubt that the government will hit its target of 3.3% GDP growth. We are still forecasting 2.5% growth.
