BOLIVIA: Economy grows 3.15%

The official statistics agency, Instituto Nacional de Estadí­stica, noted that the rate of growth in the first half of 2007 was slower than the 4.55% recorded in the first half of 2006. From the government's point of view, the encouraging aspect of the data was that manufacturing increased its output by 4.5% while financial services thrived, growing by 5.3%. These two sectors accounted to a third of the overall GDP growth.
