VENEZUELA: Chávez buys no. 3 bank

The opposition to President Hugo Chávez is trying to stir up a row over his announcement that the government would buy Banco de Venezuela (BdV), the Venezuelan subsidiary of Spain's Banco Santander. The right claimed that this was the start of banking sector nationalisation.
