VENEZUELA:Inflation tumbles

The national statistics institute (INE) this week emphasised “a big improvement" in Venezuela's principal economic and social indicators, including inflation. Inflation was 2% in May, bringing accumulated inflation for the first five months to 8.9%, according to the central bank. The highest level of inflation was recorded in the transport sector (5.9%), with food and drink (3.3%) also higher than the overall figure.
