MEXICO: Rethinking Punta Colonet

Juan Francisco Molinar Horcasitas, the minister for Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT), admitted at the end of June that the government is rethinking the US$5bn Punta Colonet port project, billed as the most important national infrastructure project of President Felipe Calderón's sexenio. Any delay will have implications for the other major new infrastructure project, the construction of Mexico's first new oil refinery for a generation.
