The Bolsa Boliviana de Valores (BBV)) has been in
existence for 20 years. In that time 85 companies have used it to raise capital,
mostly from banks, pension funds and insurance companies, which buy short term
(45 day) bills and longer term bonds. Figures from the Federación Iberoamericana
de Bolsas (FIAB) show, somewhat surprisingly, that BBV is the seventh most
active capital market in the region. In the first eight months of 2009 it turned
over US$1.84bn, which was more than Quito and Guayaquil, Panama, El Salvador and
Montevideo.End of preview - This article contains approximately 159 words.
