Best of the West

This is second effort at forecasting what will happen in the region's economies in 2011. We are still optimistic about the economic prospects for the majority of countries in the region. Where we differ most from the consensus are our continuing doubts about the bullish growth prospects for Mexico. We're broadly more optimistic about Ecuador and Venezuela than the consensus and definitely more cautious about Peru than the consensus. We're writing this in mid-December.
