ECUADOR | Oil output returning to normal. Towards the end of last week oil production, which had been sharply reduced by protest actions in two Amazonian provinces, had been raised back to almost 400,000 barrels per day, or 73% of the norm. The protest actions had reduced production by the state-owned Petroecuador to virtually nothing and that of the 14 private operators to 150,000bpd. By the end of last week the private operators were pumping 250,000bpd and Petroecuador about 150,000bpd. Normally the former pump about 350,000bpd and Petroecuador about 200,000bpd.
