CHILE: Peso hits year's high, as risk premium falls

The peso rose to a 12-month high against the dollar yesterday as the country risk premium fell to between 102 and 113 basis points over US Treasuries. Given that Mexico had to pay 179 basis points over Treasuries on its 10-year bond this week, Chile is now, clearly, the region's premier credit.
