MEXICO: López Obrador pulls away

The mayor of Mexico City, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, is continuing to run well ahead of his rivals for the presidency in 2006. In the latest opinion poll, by Indermec Louis Harris, he scored 32.9%, more than twice as much as his closest rival, President Vicente Fox's wife, Marta Sahagún (15.5%) and the leader of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional, Roberto Madrazo (who is running at 13.5%).
