VENEZUELA: Central bank rejects Chávez request for US$1bn
The Banco Central de Venezuela has rejected the request from
President Hugo Chávez , made at the weekend, that it should transfer US$1bn from
the reserves to the government's account. The bank said that legally it could
not transfer the money.
