BRAZIL: Focus turns to succession in congress and the PT

The man responsible for the crisis that has engulfed the ruling Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT), Roberto Jefferson, has been expelled from congress - ironically because he blew the whistle on his peers 'without proof'. Politics, however, have moved on, pushing into the forefront two critical issues: who will preside over the lower chamber of congress when Severino Cavalcanti departs and who will run the PT.
