PARAGUAY: Partners warn Duarte about side deal with US

Just how far President Nicanor Duarte plans to go in his policy of rapprochement with the US is unclear, but his partners in Mercosur have already started signalling that his treaty obligations bar him from striking a separate free-trade deal - and that they will only tolerate a 'temporary' US military presence in Paraguay.
