BRAZIL: Evangelical church founds its own party
Brazil's largest evangelical church, the Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus (IURD), has formed its own political party as a means of overcoming the alleged discrimination its members are suffering in other political parties - which has not prevented it from forming, in the federal congress, an informal bloc with 22 members.
