CHILE: Copper soars in strike jitters

The threat of a strike at a mine owned by the world's largest copper company, Codelco, sent copper prices to their highest gain in two years yesterday. The cost of copper for March delivery rose 5.1% to US$0.961 a pound on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
