BOLIVIA: Morales embraces legalising coca as top priority

Evo Morales, frontrunner in the presidential race, has taken the bull by the horns, making coca growing one of the central planks of his platform. He has announced that if elected he will decriminalise coca growing while waging a strong campaign against drug trafficking. His closest rival, former president Jorge Quiroga, has pounced upon this and accused him of promoting the production of cocaine.
