ARGENTINA: IMF approves loan review

The IMF finally approved the first review of its US$12.5bn debt-restructuring deal on Friday, 9 January, some three weeks later than expected. As a result, Argentina will now receive disbursements worth just over US$600m from the IMF and the World Bank, and the World Bank will also go ahead with its plans for a US$5bn four-year loan deal. The IMF will also roll over on debt worth US$3.6bn which comes due in March.
