BRAZIL: Amazonian deforestation down by 31%

There is good news for a change on the environmental front. Deforestation in Brazil between August 2004 and July 2005 was down by 31% on the previous year and authorities say the new 'real-time' monitoring system is making it much easier to take preventive action.
