Development: On 31 May President Hugo Chávez reappeared after a two day absence, during which Chávez supporters marched on the presidential palace demanding to know what had happened to the president. On his return he criticised the US once again for its refusal to extradite Luis Posada Carriles, the Cuban-born Venezuelan accused of terrorism.
