REGION: FTAs raise concern among non-signatories

As Colombia concludes its free-trade negotiations with the US to applause from Lima, their other partners in the Andean community are beginning to worry about the future of their bloc. In Ecuador, government studies show little or no benefit accruing from an agreement, and indigenous organisations are threatening to oust President Alfredo Palacio if he goes ahead and signs the FTA.
