DOMINICAN REPUBLIC | Blackouts lengthening again. Even Radhamés Segura, executive vice-president of the state power utility CDEEE, who last week accused the media of exaggerating the duration of current blackouts, has admitted that there is a serious shortfall in supply, which he put at more than 500MW, or about 25% of demand. His calculation has been challenged by business and neighbourhood associations.
