MEXICO: Chiapas farmers block an international bridge

Blocking international bridges is rapidly becoming an effective means for protesters to attract swift government attention to their grievances. On 26 March it was Mexico's turn as hundreds of peasants in the southern state of Chiapas congregated to cut off traffic across the Suchiate-2 bridge, one of the main overland links between Mexico and Guatemala.
