BOLIVIA | Venezuela to finance gas plant. During a brief visit to Bolivia on 4 May, Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez announced that his country will help finance the establishment of a gas liquefaction plant in Villamontes, in the southern department of Tarija, where some of Bolivia's largest gas deposits are located. No further details were disclosed. So far, the only plans for building a gas liquefaction plant had been proposed by the promoters of the illfated scheme to export Bolivian gas via a Chilean port on the Pacific. The idea was to install such a plant on the seaside.
