MEXICO: Fox accused of trying to manipulate elections

Opposition presidential candidates who have seen their standing in the polls decline in favour of the ruling party's Felipe Calderón claim that this is because President Vicente Fox has become 'Calderón's campaign manager' using his position to bombard the electorate with messages that favour 'his' candidate and denigrate his rivals. The ruling Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) has chosen to reply with warnings that the opposition is preparing the ground to reject the outcome of the forthcoming elections, perhaps even violently.
