VENEZUELA-US: Arms embargo slapped on uncooperative Chávez

After classifying Venezuela as 'not fully cooperating' with US counter-terrorism efforts, the US government has slapped an embargo on all sales and 'retransfers' of armament to Caracas. The Venezuelan government claims that this is 'preparation for an attack' and has confirmed that it will be seeking to buy Russian military aircraft and may even sell its F-16s to Iran if the US refuses to deliver spare parts.
