Argentina-Brazil; Colombia; Mexico & Peru

ARGENTINA-BRAZIL: Argentina's country risk premium fell to a record low of 182 points (or 1.82% above US treasury bonds). The rate is five points below Brazil (whose risk premium stands at 187 points according to the JP Morgan index). 

COLOMBIA: The central bank raised interest rates by 25 basis points to 7.75% on 26 January.

COLOMBIA: Industrial output jumped 17.1% year-on-year in November.

COLOMBIA: Retail sales rose 18.12% year-on-year in November.

MEXICO: The economy grew 4.7% year-on-year in November according to the government.

MEXICO: Retail sales rose 2.5% year-on-year in November

PERU: The government posted a fiscal surplus of NS$3.87bn (US$1.21bn) in 2006, versus a deficit of NS$1.83bn in 2005.
