Tracking trends

MEXICO | June growth almost touches 7%. Economic activity in June, as measured by the Igae index (which anticipates full GDP calculations), was running 6.8% higher than a year earlier. The official statistical institute, Inegi, reports that this performance was driven by exceptionally great expansion of agriculture (17.6%), thanks to an increase in the area sown in the spring-summer cycle, and robust growth in broad industry (6.9% despite a small contraction in mining) and the services (5.9%).
