BRAZIL: Police looking into PCC's 'PT connection'

The São Paulo police has opened an investigation to determine whether there are any links between the federally ruling Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) and the gang known as the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), responsible for two bloody campaigns of violence since early May. What has prompted the investigation was a wiretap in which an alleged PCC member relayed instructions to target politicians - except those of the PT.
