ECUADOR: Correa faces first diplomatic hurdle

The president-elect, Rafael Correa, eased himself into diplomatic waters with visits to Argentina and Chile last week. He is scheduled to visit Venezuela, where he is sure to be well-received, later this week. Much more problematic will be Correa's subsequent visit to Colombia to hold talks with President Alvaro Uribe.
