Brazil:  The index of industrial confidence (ICI) compiled by the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), based on polls of current and future expectations of 1,122 local companies, rose 2.4% month-on-month in November over October to 109.6 points, its tenth consecutive monthly rise. On a scale of 1-200, anything over 100 indicates confidence. The ICI was up 35.1% over November 2008, when the sector went into a rapid downturn amid the global economic crisis.
