Development: On 14 January the exchange rate commission, Cadivi, which authorizes the sale of US dollars to local importers, published the list of import items deemed 'essential' and 'non-essential' under the new two tiered exchange rate regime, in which essential goods can be purchased at BF2.60/US$, while non-essentials will be available at a pricier BF4.3/US$.
