Development: On 21 April, on the second day of violence by supporters of President Daniel Ortega, 18 opposition legislators and their alternates were held hostage in congress and two vehicles belonging to opposition deputies were burnt out by Sandinista 'shock troops'. Journalists on the scene were caught up in the fracas.
