Brazil: Vehicle production fell 14.6% month-on-month in April over March, reflecting the phasing out of official tax breaks put in place for the sector during the global financial crisis. However total production rose 22.6% year-on-year overall in the first quarter of 2010 to 1.12m units. Exports rose an impressive 78.3% year-on-year, according to the National Auto Manufacturers Association. The sector recently announced planned investments of US$11bn in the next few years.
