Development: On 1 February, Venezuela's President Hugo Chávez , who is rarely seen without his Blackberry these days, tweeted (@chavezcandanga) that he had approved BF3.0bn (US$0.7bn) for new public housing, with the aim of building 40,000 new homes. He also celebrated the fact that 164,253 small farmers had signed up for 'Misión AgroVenezuela', a new scheme offering credit, supplies and advice to small producers. “Thanks for believing in the Boliviarian Government!" he ended.
