Development: On 18 February Joseph Lambert, the national coordinator for President René Préval's Inité said that the ruling coalition was not planning to strike an alliance with either of the two candidates due to compete in the 20 March presidential run-off, Michel Joseph Martelly (Repons Peyizan) and Mirlande Manigat (Rassemblement des Démocrates Nationaux Progressistes (RNDP).
