Danger of split for Chile's ruling coalition

Development: On 24 March, Chile's main opposition coalition, Concertación, and the Partido Comunista de Chile (PCC) presented a joint constitutional accusation in the lower house of congress against Jacqueline Van Rysselberghe, the Unión Demócráta Independiente (UDI) governor of the VIII region of Bí­o Bí­o, for her alleged fabrication of statistics on earthquake damage in her region in order to secure more money from the government's reconstruction fund.
