The 2011 Copa América football tournament in Argentina broke numerous records, but many of them are not ones to be proud of. Uruguay and Paraguay, the champions and runner-ups respectively, are possibly the only two countries to come out on a positive note: Uruguay became the country with the highest number of regional trophies (15), leaving its neighbours and rivals, Argentina, one trophy behind, while Paraguay broke the ‘curse’ which had damned it to an early exit in the quarter finals of the previous four tournaments.
