PARAGUAY: Frente Guasú claims two heads

Although the next presidential elections are still two years away, tensions in the ruling coalition, Alianza Patriotica para el Cambio (APC), led by President Fernando Lugo since 2008, have lately reached unprecedented levels. Paraguay's political landscape is shifting, as the grouping of radical left-wing parties that make up Lugo's political vehicle, Frente Guasú (FG), redouble their efforts to establish continuity in 2013. However, President Lugo's latest decisions could prove a serious political miscalculation.
