Latin America flies along

Development: On 25 May the Dominican Republic (DR) and Paraguay signed an open skies agreement.  

Significance: Intra-regional tourism in Latin America is enjoying resurgence as Latinos use their new found wealth to travel more. This is reflected not only in increased air traffic but also in the development of new hotels. The regional tourism industry is so attractive that foreign and local operators alike have set their sights on expansion as an immediate priority. New developments are going up in traditional and in non-traditional destinations alike.
