MEXICO: Slowing down

There are already signs that Mexico’s economy is slowing down again, as the US economy starts to splutter. On 10 August the Banco de México cut its 2011 GDP growth forecast from its previous range of 4% to 5% to a range of between 3.8% and 4.8%. The bank’s move was franked by the subsequent official figures for second quarter growth, which came in about 10% below expectations.
