Development: On 6 September the Nicaraguan centre for human rights (Cenidh) and government opponents such a dissident Sandinista, Mónica Baltodano, criticised a presidential order issued by Daniel Ortega, which extends (for an unspecified period) the mandate of Nicaragua’s police (PN) chief, Aminta Granera, whose five year term was due to expire.
